As I begin to write this, several Scripture verses are going through my mind. One that comes to mind, specifically, is Deuteronomy 31:6. This is a verse that I’ve resonated with for a while now; one that I’ve quoted in several pieces of writing over the past few years.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Ever since I started Rustic Christian Signs, ever since I started writing, one thing I’ve always promised is to be 100% honest with my followers. (And honestly, I’m probably writing this to inspire myself more than anything. 😉 )
You may be wondering why I haven’t written any blog posts, or really posted anything on my Facebook page, since January. I’ve got to be honest with you, it’s been a challenging couple of months, filled with sleepless nights, emotional breakdowns, praying, and even some counselling. But in the midst of all the darkness comes light.
So I’m excited to “announce” (if this counts as an announcement 😉 ) that my family and I will be moving to Saskatchewan in the coming weeks!
People have been asking “why are you moving?” “Are you still going to finish school?” “Are you scared?” And several more. It seems like I’ve been answering these questions 24/7 the past few weeks! (Not to sound like I’m complaining, though… I’ve actually been enjoying answering everyone’s questions, LOL!) In fact, you may be wondering the exact same thing.
I don’t want to go into detail, but we were going through some stuff. It seemed like one thing after another was pounding down. But that’s not where the story ends… in the midst of all the trouble, the Lord has been blessing us and giving us the strength to get through everything!
For example, here’s a cool story: we listed our house for sale at the beginning of February… the realtor had posted it on Facebook prior to it hitting the MLS, so my parents shared it out to a few Facebook groups. Little did they know that their computers would literally blow up with notifications! I’m not kidding; between the several groups, there were probably about a thousand shares, hundreds of comments, and several likes as well. The realtor actually called my parents to tell them how surprised he was… no one had seen anything like it! And the listing must have worked, because the house sold a few days later!
Also, even though we will be leaving our horses and llamas behind, we just recently found out that the new owners want to keep them. I was not expecting that, as we were actually preparing to re-home them prior to us moving. MAJOR blessing right there, if you ask me!
Yes, I am a bit scared. It’s probably a 60-40 ratio (60% excited, 40% scared). But I’m trusting God in this new season of my life. I have faith that He will continue to bless my family as we prepare to move in the next few weeks. This move is going to be a fresh start and a new chapter.
With that in mind, I should probably say that I will be taking some time off over the next few weeks prior to and during this move. During this time off, I hope to come up with some new ideas for blog posts and inspirational products; and I’m planning on coming back better than ever 🙂
God Bless everyone,
